The rules it follows

Politer, not vaguer

Most tone rewriters fix the anger by deleting the content, and you end up with a friendly email that asks for nothing. This one works the other way round.

What it changes

  • Blame aimed at a person becomes a description of what happened
  • Sarcasm and rhetorical questions come out entirely
  • Capitals, exclamation marks and "URGENT" in the subject

Is it really free?
Yes. Ten runs a day across all the Pidgy free tools, with no account and no card. You only see the counter once three runs remain.
Do you store what I paste?
No. The text is processed to produce the result and not kept. The tool sets no cookies and needs no consent banner. One random id sits in your browser's local storage to count the free runs, and it identifies nobody.
Will it change what I actually meant?
That is what the kept list is for. Every rewrite comes with the points it carried over, so you can check the deadline, the amount and the ask all survived before you send. If something is missing, edit it back in. The text is yours.
Can I just use ChatGPT for this?
You can, and it will give you a politer email. The difference is what it gives you alongside it. A general chatbot optimises for pleasantness, which is how the deadline and the amount quietly disappear from the rewrite. This tool is built to protect the specifics and then show you the list of what it protected, so you can verify rather than trust.
Should I use it for a complaint or a dispute?
For a first complaint to a supplier or a client, yes. For anything that might end up in a legal process, write it yourself and keep it factual, dated and unambiguous, because a warm rewrite can be read later as a softer position. The same goes for anything raised with HR or a regulator, where their format matters more than the prose.
Does it work in other languages?
It follows the language you paste in, so a Dutch or French draft comes back in Dutch or French. If you want the same message in a different language, use the rewrite in another language tool instead.
